Rhe Highbeekay Foundation has extended its reach to Oke Iya community in Akure South, providing vital medical care, solar street lights and economic support.
Over 186 residents benefited from the outreach, which included health screenings and welfare interventions. Notably, six volunteer nurses participated, identifying 27 individuals with high blood pressure, who were advised to seek medical attention.
The foundation also donated solar street lights to enhance safety, visibility and night time security within the community, which was applauded by residents, who noted that improved lighting would significantly reduce security concerns and promote safer movement after dark.
The foundation also extended business support and welfare aid to the elderly and small-scale entrepreneurs, helping to strengthen livelihoods and provide relief to vulnerable groups within the community.
The event was powered by the commitment of several volunteers, including Vincent, Gov Cray, Mrs. Hannah, Miss Bola, Mrs. Ibukun and Seun Blessing, along with volunteer nurses and community leaders, who worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth and successful outreach.
Speaking during the closing session, Project Leader, Ogundipe Seyi, appreciated the founder, Ambassador Ibukun Titilayo Samuel, praising her vision and steadfast leadership.
He highlighted that for over six years, the foundation has consistently championed community development through health interventions, empowerment programmes and social support.
