Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) has endorsed former governor of Abia State and Abia North senator-election, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, for the post of senate president.
In a release signed by Goodluck Ibem, president and Dr. Igwe Canice, secretary, the group described Kalu as the best experienced and qualified candidate from South East zone to occupy the office of senate president come June.
“Kalu is a consummate politician with the strength of character and better mental capacity to take the legislative arm of government to greater heights.
“We urge the APC and all senators, irrespective of their political parties, to support the candidature of Kalu as president of the ninth Senate, because his candidature will bring peace, harmony and stability in the senate.
“Having served as a member, House of Representatives (1991-1993) and governor of Abia State (1999 – 2007), we strongly believe he has the requisite knowledge and experience to pilot the affairs of the senate effectively.”
The group said if Kalu is chosen as the senate president, South East would have been given a sense of belonging.
