Former British Prince Andrew arrested over alleged misconduct

Britain’s former royal Prince Andrew has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office linked to his time as a UK trade envoy, police confirmed on Thursday.

According to the Thames Valley Police, officers detained “a man in his sixties from Norfolk” as part of an ongoing investigation. While the statement did not name the suspect, details correspond to the Duke of York.

The arrest follows fresh revelations suggesting Andrew may have shared potentially confidential documents with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during his tenure representing British trade interests abroad.

Andrew previously served as the United Kingdom’s Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, a role aimed at promoting British business ties overseas before he stepped down amid mounting controversy over his links to Epstein.

Police said inquiries remain ongoing, and further updates would be provided as the investigation progresses. No formal charges have yet been announced.
