High-flying Premier League club, Nottingham Forest will reportedly compete with Manchester United to sign Ademola Lookman from Serie A outfit, Atalanta this summer.
According to a report by TEAMtalk, Lookman is the subject of interest from Nottingham Forest.
The Atalanta attacker is also a target for Manchester United and Newcastle United. Meanwhile, the Serie A outfit will demand around €60-70 million to part ways with the productive Nigerian international in the summer transfer window.
Lookman has reached a crossroads in his career this season after a topsy-turvy ride in the last 12 months. The London-born attacker struggled for consistency for several seasons before he joined Atalanta from RB Leipzig and established himself as one of the best attackers in Serie A.
The 27-year-old has come leaps and bounds in the last 12 months, playing his part as Atalanta won the UEFA Europa League in the 2023/24 season before contributing to La Dea’s Serie A title-contending campaign this term. Lookman has contributed to 25 goals in 32 appearances across all competitions in 2024/25, finding the back of the net 18 times and providing seven assists.
Nottingham Forest will aim to beat the competition to the London-born attacker’s signature in the summer transfer window. The Tricky Trees will likely compete in the UEFA Champions League next season. So, they want to upgrade their offensive unit and have set their sights on Lookman.
Nottingham Forest and Manchester United should have the funds to afford a deal worth €60-70 million to sign Lookman. It will be interesting to see if the 27-year-old Nigerian international returns to the Premier League in the summer transfer window.
