Nottingham Forest manager, Steve Cooper has provided an update on the recovery of forward Taiwo Awoniyi, stating that the player is making good progress in his rehabilitation from a groin injury.
Awoniyi suffered a setback while on international duty last month, aggravating his groin injury. The 26-year-old underwent surgery and is anticipated to be out of action until the New Year.
Cooper shared positive news about Awoniyi’s recovery, mentioning that the striker is responding well to the rehabilitation process and maintaining a positive outlook during this period.
The manager did not provide specific details on the timeline for Awoniyi’s return but expressed optimism about the forward’s recovery journey.
“Taiwo’s injury is the obvious long-term one,” as quoted by the Nottingham Post. “He is going well but he is a long, long way from being back involved in games.”
“But his programme is going well. He had a positive appointment this week. He doesn’t enjoy being injured but he is staying positive in his mentality.”
