Founder/General Overseer of True Covenant Church of God (TCCG), Ikorodu, Lagos, Bishop Olufemi Otusanya, has said football should be leveraged on for developmental strides in the Nigeria Project.

He gave the advice during an encounter with journalists when he arrived from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he had joined other global and Africa leaders recently for an international conference on global football and economic summit on general development of nations in the world.

Otusanya, who is the proprietor of Omomajemu Football Academy, said the Nigeria Project should be given attention through sports in all sectors of the country.

His words: “Football is perceived as a crucial unifying factor. There are untapped talents in all sports, especially in the game of football.”

Otusanya explained that the Omomajemu Football Academy operates like a school, where students (footballers) are accommodated in special facilities provided by the proprietor. He added that the proprietor also clothes and kits every student, and transports them to and from the pitch.

Commenting on exchange rate of Naira to other foreign currencies, he noted that the Nigerian Naira is improving, which has strengthened the economy.
