Actor and skitmaker, Tobi Abiri Folagade, popularly known as Folagade Banks, has announced that his latest production, ‘Mama Deola Wedding Story’, will premiere on Kava TV on September 3 as the streaming platform’s first original movie.
The announcement, made on Sunday, has generated excitement across social media, with the film already attracting widespread attention from movie enthusiasts and industry stakeholders.
The premiere also marks a significant milestone for Kava TV, a fast-growing digital streaming platform that has continued to expand its footprint in Nigeria’s entertainment industry by acquiring and distributing Nollywood titles.
While the platform has previously showcased a number of acclaimed films from independent filmmakers across different genres, Mama Deola Wedding Story will become its first original production, underscoring Kava TV’s ambition to invest more heavily in exclusive Nigerian content.
According to the filmmaker, Mama Deola Wedding Story also set a new milestone in the Nigerian film industry by featuring what he described as the largest cast ever assembled for a wedding scene in a Nollywood production.
Expressing gratitude for the achievement, Folagade, known for the popular Mama Deola character, said the feat was a testament to God’s faithfulness and the unwavering support of fans and colleagues.
