Bishop of Aguata Diocese (Anglican Communion),  Rt. Rev. Samuel Ezeofor, has urged the Federal Government to prioritise programmes and projects that have direct impact on the welfare of Nigerians.

Ezeofor made the call in his Christmas message released by his Director of Media and Communications, Mr. Abuchi Nwozor, on Wednesday in Aguata, Anambra State.

He expressed concern over the prevailing hardship faced by citizens, attributing it to poor economic policies.

The cleric lamented the high level of kidnapping, banditry and other security challenges across the country.

He called on the government to adopt strategic and proactive measures to strengthen the nation’s security architecture to restore public confidence and renew hope in the Nigerian project.

He also advised Nigerians to engage in activities that promoted peaceful coexistence.

Speaking on the significance of Christmas, Ezeofor urged affluent individuals to remember the less-privileged during the festive season and beyond.

According to him, they need to demonstrate compassion, love and generosity to the needy in society.

The Bishop warned against actions capable of eroding the true meaning and essence of Christmas.

“I encourage Nigerians to remain steadfast in faith and trust in God in spite of the daunting challenges confronting the nation.

“Every challenge has an expiry date.

“I wish Nigerians a joyful Christmas celebration and a prosperous 2026,” he said.
