The Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment held a transformative stakeholders consultation on export in Lagos, Nigeria, aimed at fortifying Nigeria’s export sector and catalyzing economic growth.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Amb. Nura Abba Rimi emphasized the crucial role of exports in driving economic development, creating jobs, and enhancing foreign exchange earnings.
Director of Press and Public Relations in the Ministry, Dr. Adebayo Thomas, in a statement on Tuesday, said the consultation brought together key players from the public and private sectors to discuss critical challenges and opportunities, including market access, regulatory bottlenecks, infrastructural constraints, and global best practices.
The consultation addressed significant outcomes, including export expansion grants, smart energies, tax exemptions, multi-use export certificates, and foreign exchange accessibility.

According to the director, the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, underscored the transformative potential of exports, “We recognize the power of exports to revolutionize our economy and uplift the lives of Nigerians.

The Ministry further announced plans to reduce regulatory overlaps and create a more conducive business environment for exporters.
“Our commitment is to foster an environment where exporters can thrive, By reducing regulatory hurdles and enhancing efficiency, we aim to boost Nigeria’s export capabilities,” added the Minister.
