The inhabitants of Mararaba are already feeling the brunts of the early rains, as a large section of the road is covered with flood from last night’s light showers, giving the people a cause for concern.
“This is just the beginning of March and we have started experiencing this kind of flood on our road. I cannot begin to imagine what would happen in June.” Those are the words of Mr Edward Akan Bisong, a transporter living in New Nyanya.
Miss Cynthia Akpo calls on the government to do something as quickly as possible to fix the road and other troubled spots along the Nyanya-Mararaba road.
She said: “A journey that could naturally take 15 minutes is taking over 3 hours to make. We need FERMA, NEMA or whoever is responsible to do something as quickly as possible.”
And despite personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps being on ground to help direct road users, they refused to give any form of reaction to the situation.
