Flood: NDDC donates food items, others to Edo govt

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), yesterday, donates food and other relief materials worth millions of naira to the Edo State government for distribution to flood victims.

Presenting the items in Benin, Director for NDDC, Edo State office, Mrs. Mercy Babawale, said the agency was complimenting the effort of government in assisting flood victims in the state.

“We are here today to officially hand over our donations of 18 different items to the government of Edo State. These items which are in two categories consist of food and non-food components totalling 9,426 in number.”

The items included rice, noodles, beans, garri, salt, milk and everage, sugar, vegetable oil, cartons of seasoning cubes, tins of tomatoes, table water, nylon mats, treated mosquito nets, bathing soap, mattresses/pillows, blankets and rubber slippers.

Commissioner for Special Duties, Jonathan Lawani, thanked the commission for the donation and assured they would be delivered to those affected by the flood to ameliorate their sufferings.
