Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has sympathised with families of victims of flood and boat mishap in Anambra State.
In a statement, spokesperson of the group, Emma Powerful, urged the Federal Government to provide relief materials to those affected.
It boasted that such incidents would be curtailed when Biafra nation is actualised.
“We sympathise with many affected families who lost their loved ones, houses, and properties, including those who were forced to relocate from their homes due to the flood. May the almighty give you strength and courage to forge ahead.
“We wonder why the Federal Government and its agencies like disaster management has not done anything in helping the victims. If this were to be in the North, all the agencies would have used national treasury to support them.
“We are calling on Anambra State government, the Federal Government, and international ecological intervention bodies to intervene and rescue our people in Ogbaru council, Anambra West, and East councils by finding a permanent solution to this yearly flooding menace.
“Ogbaru council and other communities at the banks of River Niger must know that whenever Biafra comes they will never experience this kind of calamity, because Biafra engineers will ensure there is sensible urban planning and enough Sea defence to stop any sort of flood from River Niger to overflow to the surrounding communities.
“We understand that the Federal Government is not concerned about any ecological interventions nor environmental protection in Biafraland. These and many more are the injustices that Biafra nation will address when the time comes,” Powerful said.
