Flick sends message to Mourinho

Hansi Flick

Hansi Flick wrapped up the season with Barcelona following a 3–1 defeat at Mestalla against Valencia in a meaningless match, with the Catalans having already secured the La Liga title thanks to their 2–0 Clásico win over Real Madrid two weeks earlier. The German coach, who will remain in charge until 2028 after renewing his contract, is already working on next season’s squad with the Champions League as the main objective.

After facing Carlo Ancelotti, Xabi Alonso, and Álvaro Arbeloa as Real Madrid managers, the German now looks set to go up against José Mourinho, who is widely expected to become the club’s next head coach if Florentino Pérez wins the presidential elections scheduled for June.

When asked about this during his final press conference of the season, Flick delivered a confident response:

“Are you ready for Mourinho?”

“Of course. Why not? He’s just another opposing coach, and I’m always ready for everyone,” he said.
