Flamingos captain Harmony Chidi has expressed the team’s determination to win the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and make Nigeria proud.
The Nigerian side, coached by Akeem Busari, will face Japan in the final at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, Pitch 4, Rabat, on Saturday.
The encounter will mark the first meeting between both countries at the U-17 Women’s World Cup level.
While the Flamingos are aiming to win the title for the first time, Japan will be seeking their second crown.
Chidi said that reaching the final is a big thing and they want to return home with the trophy.
“Reaching the final is a very big thing; it’s a great thing, and it’s something that we have dreamed of. [Winning] would be something myself, my country, my teammates, our coaches, and everybody would be proud of,” Chidi told FIFA.
