First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, has praised the Super Falcons for their landmark victory at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). The Nigerian women’s national team secured their 10th championship title after a thrilling 3-2 win.
“I celebrate you, our beautiful and lovely Super Falcons, for the landmark victory of your 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations championship,” Mrs Tinubu declared. She described the victory as “remarkable and commendable,” emphasising that it is “not just another trophy; it is a testament to your hard work, consistency, and the indomitable Nigerian spirit.”

The First Lady expressed gratitude to God for the success and acknowledged the team’s role in lifting the nation’s pride. “You have once again lifted the pride of our dear nation, Nigeria, and cemented your place as Queens of African football,” she said.
Speaking on behalf of Nigerian women and the entire nation, Mrs Tinubu thanked the Super Falcons for their inspiring achievement, noting, “You have written your names in gold and inspired millions across the continent. Congratulations, Super Falcons! I celebrate you. Nigeria celebrates you.”
