The First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, has extended warm felicitations to mothers across the country in commemoration of the 2026 Mother’s Day celebration.

In a message released on Sunday, Mrs Tinubu paid tribute to the love, compassion and sacrifices of Nigerian mothers, acknowledging their invaluable role in shaping families and building the nation.

“Your love, care and sacrifices do not go unnoticed. Beyond the big sacrifices, it is the small, quiet moments that truly define a mother’s love,” she said. “On this special day, we carry those moments in our hearts and say thank you for the warmth and love you selflessly give.”

The First Lady described mothers as the true heroes of Nigeria, noting that their efforts in nurturing and guiding their families contribute significantly to the country’s growth and stability.

She also urged mothers to continue instilling wisdom, discipline and strength in their children for the benefit of future generations. “May we all live to enjoy the fruits of our labour over our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren,” she prayed.

Mrs Tinubu concluded her message by wishing all Nigerian mothers a joyful and fulfilling Mother’s Day celebration.
