Nigeria’s First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has urged for greater understanding among nations to promote peace worldwide. She made the call during a private meeting with Qatar’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Ali bin Ghanem Al-Hajri, at her office on Wednesday.

Reacting to the recent attack in Doha, Qatar’s capital, the First Lady emphasised that peace, a core value in major religions, remains close to the heart of God. She prayed for a world free from the provocations of war, according to a statement by her media aide, Busola Kukoyi.

The discussion focused on strengthening partnerships between the Renewed Hope Initiative and Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development. Both parties are keen on supporting the Almajiri educational system and addressing the challenges faced by out-of-school children in Nigeria.

Al-Hajri expressed sincere gratitude to the First Lady and Nigerians for their support and prayers for global peace during this challenging period. He also reaffirmed Qatar’s special relationship with Nigeria.

“Nigeria remains dear to the State of Qatar,” he said.
