First Lady at 65: Your RHI has redefined women’s leadership, inspires generation – Nana Shettima

On the occasion of First Lady Oluremi Tinubu’s 65th birthday, wife of the Vice President, Nana Shettima, has extolled the First Lady’s powerful impact on Nigerian society, highlighting her transformative leadership through her pet project, the Renewed Hope Initiative.

In a statement she personally signed, Mrs Shettima shared her admiration and outlined how Mrs Tinubu has redefined women’s roles in politics and inspired a generation of young Nigerians to pursue their dreams.

In her heartfelt message, Mrs Shettima said, “Through your Renewed Hope Initiative, you have not only redefined the role of women in Nigerian politics but have also blazed a trail of excellence that continues to inspire countless women and young people to pursue their dreams with unwavering determination.” This initiative, credited with groundbreaking programmes in women’s health, rural development, education, and empowerment for women and youth, has delivered lasting benefits that extend well beyond immediate communities.

Reflecting on her personal experience working with the First Lady, Mrs Shettima praised the First Lady’s blend of compassion, wisdom, and steadfast commitment to the Nigerian people.

“I have been privileged to see the heart behind the public figure—a woman of deep faith, boundless compassion, and remarkable strength,” she added.

The Vice President’s wife described Mrs Tinubu’s leadership as both inspiring and humbling. She expressed pride in their close relationship, saying, “I am immensely proud to call you not just my First Lady, but my sister, mentor, and friend. Your legacy of service, compassion, and excellence will forever remain an inspiration to me personally and to countless others across our beloved country.”
