To merge entertainment with financial discipline, Jollof+, digital savings platform and flagship product of Baobab Nigeria, has announced a partnership with Showmax, Africa’s streaming service.

The collaboration aims to reward new users who sign up on the Jollof+ app with exclusive Showmax subscription vouchers, offering them a dual benefit of financial empowerment and premium entertainment access.

According to the management of Jollof+, the partnership underscores the company’s mission to make saving money not only simple but also enjoyable. It seeks to reinforce the brand’s message that cultivating healthy financial habits can coexist with a vibrant lifestyle.

“We understand that Nigerians want balance; they want to save and still live fully,” said Eric Ntumba, Chief Executive Officer of Baobab Nigeria. “Partnering with Showmax provides the perfect opportunity to reward users with something fun while encouraging smarter saving habits.”

Since its launch in 2024, Jollof+ has continued to redefine the savings experience for Nigerians. The platform recently surpassed ₦13 billion in total user savings, a milestone that reflects its growing trust and adoption nationwide. The collaboration with Showmax adds an innovative lifestyle twist, positioning Jollof+ as a financial platform that aligns with the aspirations of Nigeria’s youthful and tech-driven population.

Showmax, which boasts an extensive catalogue of local and international films, series, and original African content, also described the partnership as an opportunity to connect with a financially conscious and digitally savvy audience.

“We are excited to collaborate with Jollof+ on this initiative that rewards people for making smart financial choices,” said Adedotun Adegbite, Senior Specialist, Partner Communications, Showmax West Africa. “Entertainment and savings may seem like worlds apart, but this partnership shows that they can blend seamlessly.”

Through the campaign, new users who activate their savings plans on Jollof+ will receive Showmax vouchers, granting them access to thousands of titles — including hit African originals such as WURA, FLAWSOME, The Real Housewives of Lagos, and House of the Dragon, among others.

As part of the Baobab Group, which operates 38 branches across Nigeria, Jollof+ is fully regulated by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and insured by the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), ensuring that all customer deposits remain safe and secure.

This latest collaboration marks the beginning of a broader strategy by Jollof+ to integrate financial services with lifestyle incentives. The company plans to roll out more reward-based campaigns, referral programs, and in-app benefits designed to make saving both achievable and enjoyable.

Ultimately, Jollof+ says its goal remains clear to empower Nigerians to build lasting wealth confidently, backed by the assurance of security, innovation, and value-driven experiences.
