Blackhemages Media Concepts, a lifestyle platform dedicated to promoting wholeness and authenticity, has announced the launch of “A Fight for Life,” a day retreat designed to address the pressing issue of men’s mental health.

Hosted by Oluwatunmise Oladapo Kuku, the lead creative at Blackhemages, “A Fight for Life” aims to create a safe and supportive space for men to connect, share experiences, and learn valuable coping mechanisms.

“Men often face unique challenges when it comes to mental health due to societal expectations and stigmas,” said Oladapo-Kuku.

She emphasized her goal is to provide a platform where men can feel comfortable discussing their struggles, learn coping mechanisms, and break free from the silence surrounding mental health issues

“The statistics surrounding men’s mental health are alarming. We believe it’s crucial to break down the stigma associated with mental health and provide men with the tools they need to navigate life’s challenges.”

The retreat will feature a variety of activities, including:Guided meditations and mindfulness exercises, One-on-one coaching sessions, presentations by mental health professionals, group discussions and sharing circles, creative activities and bonding exercises.

“A Fight for Life” will take place on November 23, 2024 at The Rembrandt Hall Ikeja. Participants will have the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, learn from experts in the field of mental health, and gain valuable insights into their own emotional well-being.

Continuing, she said, “We believe that by creating a supportive and inclusive environment, we can empower men to seek help and prioritize their mental well-being. Our hope is that this retreat will serve as a catalyst for change and inspire more men to prioritize their mental health.”
