Fire incident: No cause for alarm, says Dangote

Following a fire outbreak which was reported at Dangote Refinery this Wednesday afternoon, the Management of Dangote Industries Limited has reacted officially to the development.

In a swift reaction, the company’s Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, said the firm has contained the minor fire incident at its effluent treatment plant (ETP).

”There is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating as there is no recorded injury or body harm to any of our staff on duty,” Chiejina said in a statement.

A fire outbreak was reported at a section of the refinery. The fire which erupted Wednesday afternoon was said to have gutted a particular section of the refinery.

The Dangote refinery is a 650,000 barrels per day capacity plant producing fertiliser, Diesel and Jet A1.
Production of petrol according to DIL is to commence next month.
