A devastating fire engulfed a petrol tanker at Total Petrol Station in Orita Challenge, Ibadan, in the early hours of Tuesday, claiming the lives of two individuals.
The Oyo State Fire Services Agency confirmed that the victims were the tanker driver and his motor boy.
According to the agency’s General Manager, Yemi Akinyinka, firefighters responded swiftly after receiving an emergency call at 5:15 a.m.

“We were alerted about the fire at a Mega Petrol Station at 5:15 a.m. and immediately dispatched our team. Sadly, the driver and his motor boy did not survive the blaze,” Akinyinka stated.
The fire has since been brought under control, and authorities have assured that further investigations are underway to determine the cause of the incident.
