A mid – day fire incident has razed structures at Rogo General Hospital in Rogo LGA of Kano State, destroying valuable worth millions of Naira.
The incident which happened about 2.30 pm on Thursday affected the ground floor of the building which was used as a General Hospital in the area.
A statement signed by Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi, Public Relations Officer, Kano Fire Service on Friday, listed departments affected by the fire to include the Physiotherapy Clinic (CMO), One Office (MEU) Dental, OPD, ACC/ Card room DOT Office and the Laboratory Office.
According to the statement, the fire was caused by an electrical spark, stating however that the Fire Service would further investigate the incident to determine the exact cause of the outbreak.
The statement urged the public to exercise caution while using electrical appliances to prevent future recurrence of fire incidents and protect lives and property.

In the meantime, Kano State Government has expressed sympathy with the people of the area following a fire incident
Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf described the tragedy as “unfortunate and deeply saddening,” stating that hospitals were critical lifelines for communities and must remain functional and safe.
He directed that an immediate assessment of the damage be carried out and a detailed report submitted without delay.
He also approved the immediate rehabilitation of the affected sections to ensure the speedy restoration of healthcare services in the area.
