“the Chronicles of Enyimba,» a Made in Aba Film Project, that will tell the story of the commercial city will soon debut.
A joint production team for the film, said it has concluded the pre-production stage and was waiting for the official flag off by Abia State Governor, Alex Otti.
“The Chronicles of Enyimba,» is dedicated to the history, growth, development, economic, socio-cultural and political realities of Aba, the commercial hub of Abia State.
Producer of the film project, Francis Ifeakandu, who alongside other stakeholders and promoters of the film, told journalists in Aba that Otti as the Brand Ambassador of the project, was being awaited to kick it off: “The project will be a two-seasoned film with over 40 episodes, which will have about two thousand casts from different parts of Africa, who are to be featured with talents nurtured domestically to make it colourful.
“The team has been sitting, getting things ready over the years, from scripting to other necessary works. Thanks be to God that finally, we›re done with the pre-production stage and are now awaiting the production stage, which will start immediately after the flag-off, by our ambassador, Governor Otti.
“We›re ready and now await the signal from the governor, who since 2022, has become the face of this project. The research done for this project was a thorough one.”
The ace producer further explained that the film is all about the complete story, civilization, metamorphosis and development of the Enyimba City, from the cradle: “We have promises from world acclaimed Hollywood producers of Igbo origin to be among the over 120 crew that will help make the film.
“So, this project is taking off, but the governor will now be the person to decide the official flag off. So, the team of promoters are here today to inform you that we›re ready and good to go.
“Aba was where the current Nollywood films production started, so we want to use the film to tell the real Aba story, not just the negative things people peddle about the town and its people.”
Ifeakandu was upbeat that the film project will actually situate the pre-eminence of Enyimba City in the annals of film production in Nigeria.
