Former NBA head coach and newly appointed D’Tigers handler, David Fizdale, is expected to take charge of Nigeria’s senior men’s basketball team during the July window of the 2027 FIBA World Cup African qualifiers, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The development is seen as a major boost for the Nigerian side as they continue their quest to qualify for the next stage of the competition after a difficult outing in the previous round, where D’Tigers suffered two defeats.

Nigeria are drawn in Group C alongside Tunisia, Rwanda and Guinea in the qualification series.

Fizdale’s expected presence on the bench is anticipated to bring experience and stability to the team as D’Tigers aim to revive their qualification hopes in the crucial July fixtures.
