With just a day to tip-off, the rosters of all participating teams have been confirmed ahead of the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup 2025, set to begin on today, July 12 in Brno, Czechia.
The 12 players of Nigeria Junior D’Tigress and officials were cleared Friday ahead of the FIBA U19 World Cup. The Junior Tigress is led by the technical trio of Faustina Akhere Juliana, Nyingifa Atonye and Usuwa Chinedu Stone, respectively as head coach, associate head coach and assistant coach.
Nigeria’s opening game in Group B of the World Cup is against China in Brno while Canada and Portugal complete the group.
The tournament will feature 16 teams divided into four groups, however a notable absence will be Mali, who were originally drawn into Group C but have been ruled out of the competition after facing visa issues that prevented the team from traveling.
The Group Phase, which will run from July 12 to July 15, will be played in a round-robin format. The Round of 16 is scheduled for July 16, with teams from Groups A and B, and Groups C and D, crossing over for knockout pairings.
The Quarter-Finals will be held on July 18, followed by Semi-Finals on July 19, and the Final, Third Place Game, and other placement matches on July 20.
