The Secretary Eastern Consultative Assembly, Evangelist Elliot Ugochukwu-Ukoh has said that, “Our people held a meeting and we have taken a position that we are under siege, that the federal government probably wants to wipe us out. That the herdsmen are above the law, and that the herdsmen could actually be the forerunner of an evading army that is basically designed to overrun our land.

This was a statement in reaction to a position by the federal government Sunday that the attacks and attendant bloodletting by herdsmen visited on farmers won’t come to an end soon

“So we are not surprised that the herdsmen were neither arrested nor detained, there was no Operation Cobra Dance or Dancer Dance for the herdsmen and we have said it before, I am only saying it again that the mindset of this government towards our people, we will not be surprise to wake up one day and hear that they passed a decree and change the name of Onitsha to Izuamabia. So we are under siege and the herdsmen has been favorite and chosen warriors of government who cannot be arrested, who cannot be prosecuted and this has deepened the anger, bitterness, delusions and hatred in the land. We hope the government actually do have advisers because all their moves are usually wrong.”
