MTN subscribers can now check eligibility for the Federal Government’s ₦50,000 monthly relief programme by dialling a designated USSD code provided by MoMo Payment Service Bank (MoMo PSB), the telecommunications company’s payment partner.
To check eligibility status, MTN users should follow these steps:
1. Open the dialler on your mobile phone.
2. Dial *671*0# using the MTN line they intend to use.
3. Follow the prompts displayed on the screen to check your eligibility or beneficiary status.
4. If selected, you should look out for an official SMS or notification from MoMo PSB requesting your consent to receive the payment.
5. Follow the instructions in the official notification to complete the consent process.
Subscribers who do not have a MoMo wallet can dial *671# to begin the wallet registration process or download the MoMo NG application.
Once the money is credited, beneficiaries can access it through the MoMo NG app, USSD, an authorised agent or by transferring it to their bank accounts.
The Federal Government had announced that eligible beneficiaries would receive ₦50,000 monthly as part of its relief intervention.

In a statement on October 30, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr Bernard Doro, said beneficiaries would be contacted through SMS to give their consent before payments are made.
The government also clarified that beneficiaries do not need to apply, pay any fee or register through agents to receive the support.
Meanwhile, MTN Nigeria has warned subscribers against fake messages circulating on social media, particularly claims that users marked “NOT ELIGIBLE” can receive the money by sending “YES” to an unofficial code.
The telecommunications company advised customers not to click on unverified links or disclose their personal information, one-time passwords, PINs or passwords to anyone.
“Please be informed that the information shared is not from MTN. Kindly disregard the message and do not click on any unverified links, share personal information, OTPs, PINs, passwords, or make any payments based on such messages,” the company stated.
