…Hails $76m polio eradication support

The Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun yesterday described Nigeria as an investment haven with very high returns.
Speaking while receiving a Japanese delegation in her Abuja office, Adeosun urged the Japanese investors and diplomats to take advantage of the improving economy in Nigeria to channel their resources for excellent yield.
She also hailed Japan for  its support in the polio eradication programme of Nigeria by providing a $76 million grant in 2014, which went a long in tackling the scourge.
She said: “You’re most welcome to Nigeria and your visit speaks volumes.
“Nigeria is the biggest and most populous nation in Africa. It is also one of fastest improving economies. We are evolving from where we were or where you must have heard about us to a better place.
“We are now fighting corruption fiercely,  working hard to improve our economy and also improve lives of Nigerians.
“We really wish to thank you for the polio eradication project in 2014. $76 million was channeled into it. It helped eradicate polio and we’ve been declared polio free.  The money really helped.
