FG, states, LGs share ₦2.094 trillion October 2025 revenue

The federal government, states, and local government councils shared a total of ₦2.094 trillion in revenue for October 2025, according to the latest figures released by the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC).

The ₦2.094 trillion total distributable revenue comprised distributable statutory revenue of ₦1.376 trillion, distributable Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue of ₦670.303 billion, and Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) revenue of ₦47.870 billion.

A communiqué issued by FAAC indicated that the total gross revenue of ₦2.934 trillion was available in the month of October 2025. Total deduction for cost of collection was ₦115.278 billion, while total transfers, interventions, refunds, and savings were ₦724.603 billion.

According to the communiqué, gross statutory revenue of ₦2.164 trillion was received for the month of October 2025. This was higher than the ₦2.128 trillion received in the month of September 2025 by ₦36.832 billion.

Gross revenue of ₦719.827 billion was available from Value Added Tax (VAT) in October 2025. This was lower than the ₦872.630 billion available in the month of September 2025 by ₦152.803 billion.

The communiqué stated that from the ₦2.094 trillion total distributable revenue, the Federal Government received a total sum of ₦758.405 billion, and the state governments received a total sum of ₦689.120 billion.

The local government councils received ₦505.803 billion, while the sum of ₦141.359 billion (13% of mineral revenue) was shared among the benefiting states as derivation revenue.

On the ₦1.376 trillion distributable statutory revenue, the communiqué stated that the Federal Government received ₦650.680 billion and the state governments received ₦330.033 billion.

The local government councils received ₦254.442 billion, and the sum of ₦141.359 billion (13% of mineral revenue) was shared among the benefiting states as derivation revenue.

From the ₦670.303 billion distributable Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue, the Federal Government received ₦100.545 billion, the state governments received ₦335.152 billion, and the local government councils received ₦234.606 billion.

A total sum of ₦7.180 billion was received by the Federal Government from the ₦47.870 billion Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), the state governments received ₦23.935 billion, and the local government councils received ₦16.755 billion.

In October 2025, Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT), Hydrocarbon Tax (HT), CIT on Upstream Activities, Companies Income Tax (CIT), CGT and SDT, Oil & Gas Royalty, Import Duty, Excise Duty, and CET Levies increased significantly, while Value Added Tax (VAT), Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL), and fees recorded decreases.
