A security expert, Dr Yahuza Getso, has accused the Federal Government of not taking the arrest of Bello Turji seriously, describing official statements on the matter as largely political.
Speaking on Trust TV, the expert said, “I don’t believe that Nigeria is genuinely interested in any way to arrest Bello Turji.
The declaration to apprehend him is a political statement that could be made by even a local government councillor or chairman.”

Getso noted that social media posts linked to individuals who speak against the government were traced and those responsible apprehended within hours, questioning why similar efforts have not been applied to Turji.
The expert further criticised the government for spending trillions of naira over the past 11 years fighting insurgency while failing to target financiers and key actors effectively.
He also said, “Bello Turji is not in any hidden place, and it is not difficult to apprehend him,” urging authorities to act decisively rather than issue political declarations.
His remarks add to growing concerns over the Sunday midnight attacks. At about 7.30 pm, over 30 people were killed in the attack, while many others were injured by the terrorists who invaded the Angwan Rukuba area of Jos.
