FG moves Nnamdi Kanu from DSS custody

Nnamdi Kanu
Enugu State

The federal government has transferred Nnamdi Kanu from the Department of State Services (DSS) detention facility in Abuja to a correctional facility in Sokoto State.

The development was revealed by Kanu’s lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, less than 24 hours after the IPOB leader was given a life sentence.

Kanu was convicted by Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on multiple counts of terrorism after several years of trial.

Sharing an update on Friday via X, Ejimakor said the move would isolate Kanu from his legal team and members of his family.

“MAZI NNAMDI KANU has just been moved from DSS Abuja to the correctional facility (prison) in Sokoto; so far away from his lawyers, family, loved ones and well-wishers,” Ejimakor penned.
