A new player has entered the country’s telecommunications space as FestMobile, a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), officially launched nationwide with a promise to deliver smarter, user-focused mobile services.
The company said its entry is driven by a vision to redefine how Nigerians connect, communicate and transact, anchored on its “Be You” campaign, which promotes individuality and self-expression in an increasingly digital society.
Speaking at the launch, General Manager (Sales), FestMobile, John Isibor, described the operator as a digital-first network designed to reflect modern consumer realities, offering flexible and personalised mobile experiences rather than traditional one-size-fits-all services.
According to him, FestMobile’s offerings are tailored to meet the needs of both urban and underserved communities, with a strong focus on young people and campus users. He noted that the company is rolling out affordable voice, data and SMS packages, alongside flexible subscription plans aimed at easing access to mobile services.
FestMobile’s entry comes at a time of increasing activity in the sector, following regulatory reforms by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), which has opened the market to MVNOs to stimulate competition, deepen innovation and expand digital inclusion.
Isibor commended the regulator for enabling MVNO participation, describing the move as a significant step toward expanding the telecom value chain and fostering innovation.
Unlike conventional telecom operators, FestMobile is adopting a hybrid model that combines connectivity with digital services, in line with global industry trends where telecom providers are evolving into broader digital platforms.
Operating as a trading name of Routelink Integrated Systems Ltd, the company said its model is designed to bridge the gap between core telecom services and emerging digital ecosystems, particularly in financial services where mobile connectivity plays a growing role in payments and everyday transactions.
At the heart of its strategy is a user-centric approach built on simplicity, flexibility and accessibility. The company said it will offer personalised plans tailored to individual usage patterns, while leveraging infrastructure partnerships to ensure reliable nationwide coverage.
FestMobile also pledged a simplified onboarding process to reduce barriers often associated with telecom activation and usage.
As part of its expansion drive, the company plans to deploy agent and partner networks across the 36 states of the federation to boost access and accelerate grassroots adoption.
The rollout will include innovative data bundles, incentives for early adopters and deeper integration with digital financial platforms, positioning the network as both a connectivity provider and a driver of economic participation.
While the entry of FestMobile aligns with national objectives of boosting digital inclusion and economic growth, industry watchers say its long-term success will depend on service quality, effective infrastructure partnerships and its ability to stand out in Nigeria’s highly competitive telecom market.
