A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Ogun State, Iziaq Abass, has distributed no fewer than 3,500 bags of 10kg rice to the residents of Ayetoro town and its environs, to celebrate the Sallah festival.

The event which was held at the weekend saw stalwarts of the APC, Islamic and Christian clerics, political support groups and residents of the town, benefit from the largesse.

Speaking with journalists on the sidelines of the event held at the Seriki Abass Compound,  Abbas popularly known as ‘Zacobass’, said the exercise was to give back to the people during the Sallah festival.

He disclosed that he had been distributing food items and other goodies during festive seasons for over a decade, which according to him, is meant to bring succour to the people.

Abbass who is also a senior political aide to Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, added that just like the 2026 Ramadan largesse, the Eid-Kabir’s goodies was to support similar initiatives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Adeola, who have continued to dole out palliatives to Nigerians.

He explained further that the exercise was not designed to cater for Muslims alone, but Christians and people of other faiths in the spirit of Sallah.

He added that the exercise was also not restricted to the APC members, emphasizing that the annual event is to put smiles on the faces of the people during festive periods irrespective of their religious or political affiliations.

Abbas, however, urged Nigerians to have faith and hope in the capacity of President Tinubu-led administration to totally turn around the fortune of the country, expressing optimism that various reforms being undertaken by the administration will soon bear fruit for the benefit of Nigerians.

While thanking the president and Governor Dapo Abiodun for ensuring that Senator Adeola emerged as the APC governorship candidate in Ogun State, he stressed that the gubernatorial hopeful will espouse and deliver good governance to the people of the state, if given the mandate in 2027.
