The Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri Imo State now has a new campus at Abaezi,Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State.
Rector of the school, Dr. Basilia Igbokwe, who made the disclosure at the 48th matriculation ceremony of the institution, held at the school premises, last Friday, explained that the expansion will provide quality education and training as it continues to play a vital role in the development of Nigeria’s human resources.

Reeling out the achievements of the school since she assumed office, Igbokwe said the ICT and Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) centre has been rehabilitated to reaffirm its commitment to being a leading ICT driven institution.
She added that the school has recovered and rehabilitated hostels to ease students difficulties with accommodation as well as the renovation of the 1,000 capacity hall for comfort during events, among others.
A total of 13,054 students were newly admitted by the institution. Earlier in her address, she advised the students to shun badSouth East News Mon, March 9, 2026 behaviours and joining bad groups in the school.
