February 16 poll: We’ve no presidential candidate –US

Consul General of the United States of America to Nigeria, Ambassador John Bay, has said the country has no presidential candidate in Nigeria’s February 16 presidential poll.

Bay, who restated  the commitment of the US to violence-free electoral process restated that the country’s ruling interest  is free, fair and credible elections in Nigeria.

A statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor òf Bayelsa State on Media Relations, Mr. Fidelis Soriwei, yesterday, quoted Bay to have said these when he paid a courtesy call on Governor Seriake Dickson, at the Government House, Yenagoa, on Wednesday evening.

He noted that his delegation was on a tour to the southern states in the country to interface with civil society organisations, traditional rulers and other political stakeholders on the need for peaceful conduct before, during and after the elections.
