There is culpable fear among the residents of the popular Talba housing estate in Minna, the Niger State capital following the discovery of decomposed body of 45 year old Quranic teacher Mallam Awwal Yakubu found in an uncompleted building within the estate.
The incident occured on Sunday when some children said to be searching for a missing fowl discovered the body and immediately raised the alarm.
The late Awwal, a father of seven who untill his death, operates a Quranic school in Barkin Saleh, suburb of Minna was reported missing on Thursday, 4th of December by his family.
A source close to the estate told our Correspondent that, a group of boys within the estate were said to be searching for a missing fowl when they eventual discovered the decomposing body inside an uncompleted building.
“They found a pack of matches and a bottle of tiger nut drink beside him. His clothes were on one side and his shoes on other side”, he added.

Nobody was ready to comment further on the incident, including his immediate family when our Correspondent visited the residence.
However the state police command confirmed the incident through a statement by public relation officer SP Wasiu Abiodun in Minna on Wednesday.
According to him, on the 7th of December 2025 at about 10am, the police from Kpakungu division received a report which indicated that a corpse was found behind Talba Estate, Bida road Kpakungu, Minna and promoted operatives from the division to visit the scene.
He pointed out that the police found a decomposed body in an uncompleted building which was later identified by relatives as Auwal Yakubu, 45.years Quranic Teacher who resides in the same area.
“The body was suspected to have been dumped in the location, while the deceased was reported missing since on 4th December until his body was found this morning.
“The corpse was evacuated to the hospital and investigation to unravel the cause of the death has commenced”. The statement added.
