Mandate Secretary for Education in the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Danlami Hayyo, has officially enrolled his two 14-year-old sons, Ahmad and Mukhtar, at Government Science Secondary School, Pyakasa, Maitama, Abuja, for the 2025/2026 academic year.
Hayyo’s decision to send his children to a public school comes as a deliberate effort to rebuild trust among Abuja residents in the public education system.
Speaking after the enrollment, he emphasized the impact of the extensive rehabilitation and construction work carried out under Minister Nyesom Wike’s leadership.
“This move is aimed at dispelling the misconception that senior government officials or politicians do not endorse public schools,” Hayyo said. “The minister’s investment in FCT schools has truly restored confidence in the education sector.”
