The All Progressives Congress (APC) FCT Geo-political Zones Forum said it has taken some strategic steps to mobilize FCT residents for the FCT Area Councils’ election schedule for this weekend.

Mr. Onuchukwu who is former Vice Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) said: “As we approach this weekend’s crucial FCT Area Councils’ elections, let us reflect or the strides made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. For the first time since 1999, FCT natives are leading the way in both top political and civil service. This is a testament to President Tinubu’s commitment to empowering FCT residents.
“Our support for APC is not just about politics, but about backing a government that delivers.
We have seen tangible benefits in Tinubu’s administration, and it is time to show appreciation through our votes. Let us vote APC in this election and the 2027 general elections so as to ensure continued progress.
“We appreciate President Tinubu’s efforts, but we also appeal for a certain consideration for the FCT residents in geopolitical zone appointments. Those living and working in FCT understand our needs best and can mobilise support effectively.”

The FCT Coordinator, Renew Hope Ambassadors, Abdullahi Candido, in his remarks, appealed to voters in FCT, as well as leaders and members of other political parties to ensure that a candidate from the Original Inhabitants camp emerged as Chairman in all the six Area Councils.
“This is the only place we can lay claim to, and participate in political parties. Sadly, our people are being swallowed by the growing population of other ethnic groups in the FCT. Our numerical strength might be dwindling, and so is our voice. But we won’t be relent in our push for relevance in the political and leadership activities in Nigeria,” he said.
He asked all FCT voters to queue behind all APC candidates in this weekend’s Area Council elections. “In the 2027 elections, we have unanimously agreed to mobilize support for the return of Senator Phillip Aduda to the Senate. Any other person outside the original inhabitant can go to the Green Chamber.
“However, for now, we are all with Hon Chinedu Obika, who has surpassed our expectations. We didn’t give him a chance in the Reps but he has done marvellously well in the past three years that he had represented AMAC in the House of Representatives, and we are ready to support him again.”
