The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has announced the arrest of five notorious bandits who have been on the wanted lists of the police and security agencies.
The suspects—four males and one female—were arrested in an operation led by the Commander of the Scorpion Squad, which took place between September 20 and 28, and also led to the recovery of a large cache of arms and ammunition.
The suspects are Abdullahi Garuba a.k.a. Alhaji Ore, male, 40; Yusuf Inuwa a.k.a. Alhaji Dabunda, 59; David Kaika a.k.a. Baba, 29; Baba Imaji, female, 36; and Ibrahim Nasiru a.k.a. Pepper.
Police Public Relations Officer Josephine Adeh, who made this known, said the suspects are responsible for several kidnappings in the North Central, North West, and North East regions of the country, and have been on the wanted list of the police and other security agencies.

Adeh, in a statement, said they were tracked to Nasarawa State where they were arrested.
Items recovered from the suspects include 2,186 rounds of live 7.62 x 39mm AK-47 ammunition, two AK-47 rifles with obliterated serial numbers, one locally fabricated pistol with two live cartridges, and five motorcycles.
She said the suspects, during interrogation, confessed to their crimes and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations. Efforts are ongoing to track and arrest their other gang members currently on the run.
The police spokeswoman said, while commending the bravery and gallantry of the officers, CP Ajao S. Adewale reassured the public of his continued efforts to rid the FCT and its environs of crime and criminality.
