The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Pilgrims Welfare Board has officially commenced preparations for the upcoming December Christian Pilgrimage to Jordan and Israel, the board announced today.
Director of the FCT Pilgrim Welfare Board Gloria Dandam disclosed this in an interview with journalists in Abuja, highlighting that the Federal Capital Territory has been allocated one thousand pilgrimage slots, similar to other states across the federation.
“We have received a circular from the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) directing all state Pilgrim Welfare Boards, including the FCT, to start active preparations for the December 2025 main pilgrimage,” Dandam stated. “This pilgrimage is part of the broader season spanning November 2025 to February 2026, and we are ensuring every detail is on track.”
She urged interested residents of the FCT to begin payment processes promptly to secure their participation. On the financial aspect, Dandam confirmed that the Federal Government has once again maintained a subvention of three million naira per pilgrim.

“This support by the Federal Government significantly eases the burden on pilgrims, making the spiritual journey more accessible,” said Dandam.
In addition, Dandam appealed to philanthropists, churches, and wealthy Nigerians to contribute towards the pilgrimage expenses for less privileged individuals eager to undertake the sacred journey.
“Travelling to Israel and Jordan for pilgrimage offers tremendous spiritual benefits to individuals and positively impacts the nation as a whole,” she emphasised. “We encourage everyone with the means to support this noble cause.”
The FCT Pilgrim Welfare Board assured of its commitment to ensuring a smooth and fulfilling pilgrimage experience for all participants.
