FCT Elections: INEC confirms logistics, materials in place

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed that all logistics and election materials ahead of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections scheduled for the 21st are ready.

The FCT Administrative Secretary of INEC, Abimbola Oladunjoye, disclosed while speaking on News Night on ARISE News.

She assured residents that the commission has adequate arrangements to ensure a smooth electoral process.

According to Oladunjoye, sensitive materials will be collected from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) by Thursday and moved directly to the various area councils under adequate security.

“Everything is in place; by Thursday, we will pick up sensitive materials from CBN and move them straight to the councils,” she said.

She added that in preparation for the polls, INEC has trained ad hoc staff, configured BVAS machines, and the voter register has been printed.

“Staff have been trained, BVAS have been configured, and the voter register has been printed,” she added.

She also emphasized INEC’s commitment to conducting free, fair, and credible elections, urging eligible voters in the FCT to come out peacefully and exercise their franchise.
