Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Benneth Chinedum Igweh, has charged officers ready to tackle the bandits, terrorists, kidnappers and armed robbers out of Abuja: “I have sent strong signals to the bandits to start relocating from Abuja

“I have redeployed operatives of the tactical team to flashpoints and the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway to checkmate bandits, kidnappers and armed robbers. We have started raiding hideouts, recovering their weapons, which they used for their operations.

“We are committed to professionalism, selflessness and service to humanity. We have evolved new operation strategies, training and retraining of personnel to enhance tactical engagement.

“There will be constant raiding of their hideouts. There will be a robust and effective human and technical intelligence gathering process to enhance the capacity of personnel. We need cooperation of community leaders, stakeholders and other sister security agencies to imbibe community policing to enable us flush criminals out of the FCT.

“We have arrested another 10 suspected notorious armed robbers terrorising Abuja. They confessed to the crime. We are going after the hoodlums and checkmate them out of the different axis where they operate.

“I have addressed my officers to shun corruption, illegal duty and respect the fundamental human rights and the Police Act, Rules and Regulations.”
