The Executive Chairman, Ondo State Competition and Consumer Protection Agency (ODCCPA), Oluyemi Fasipe has assured staff of a new era of professionalism, accountability, fairness and a stronger commitment to protecting the interests of consumers and promoting healthy competition in the state.
The new ODCCPA boss gave the assurance on Monday when he officially resumed at the agency’s office in Akure following his appointment by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Fasipe, who was received by members of staff led by the Administrative Secretary, Hajia Kudirat Ola, had a comprehensive briefing on the operations of the agency, its mandate, ongoing activities and some of the challenges affecting its effectiveness.
In a statement shared on X, he said, “It was an important first engagement, and I was particularly encouraged by the commitment of the staff and their willingness to work with the new leadership to reposition the Agency for greater impact.
“I assured them that we are entering a new era, one defined by professionalism, accountability, fairness and a stronger commitment to protecting the interests of consumers and promoting healthy competition.”
Fasipe further assured that under the Aiyedatiwa administration, the rights, safety and well-being of the people remain a priority.
“As an agency, we will work to ensure that consumers in Ondo State are not only heard but adequately protected, while businesses are given a fair and transparent environment to operate.
“There is a lot of work to be done, but I am confident that with the support of the staff, stakeholders and the people of Ondo State, we can build an agency that consumers can trust and businesses can respect.
“The work begins today,” he added.
