A female farmer on Wednesday escaped being abducted by notorious gang in Ndegwu,Amakohia-Ubi in Owerri West Local Government Area farmlands.
The farmer, Kelechi had gone to harvest her Palm fruits in her farm when she was waylaid by the hoodlums who pointed guns at her.
Not minding the guns pointed at her ,she was said to have threw the container of the palm fruits and its content at them and ran away.
“They came out from the bush and asked me to surrender my phone which i did, but I didn’t know what came over me when I bravely threw the palm fruits with the container at them and ran away.
“Although they shot at me, but God helped me, they could not hit their target, I later found myself outside the village were some neighbors came to rescue me “
Ndegwu community and Amakohia-Ubi have been under siege by kidnappers almost on a daily basis . Their action claimed the life of a young man on February, 14, 2025.
