Fans of Nollywood legend, Chika Okpala popularly known as Chief Zebrudaya on Wednesday paid glowing tributes to the comic actor on his 76th birthday.
Okpala rose to national fame in the 1980s and 90s for his iconic lead role as Chief Zebrudaya in the classic television sitcom New Masquerade.
Born on June 10, 1950 in Ahoada, present-day Rivers State, he hails from Nnobi in Anambra State.
Some fans who took to social media recounted with nostalgia the comic actor’s role in shaping their childhood.
Leading the charge, Kaduna Central senatorial candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Shehu Sani wrote, “Those who grew up in the 80s and 90s watched the actor Chika Okpala known as Chief Zebrudaya alias 4:30 in his popular TV series. I wish him a happy 76th Birthday.”
Shelyong Reuben wrote, “Happy birthday to our childhood star….more beautiful years.”
Abayomi Oguntuase said, “Bravo! Massive congratulations to you, sir…… Chief Zebrudaya Okoroigwe Nwogbo, alias 4.30.”
James Obiora wrote, “Happy birthday to Chief Zebudayah Okoroigwe Nwo ogbo alias 4:30. I remember those good days.”

In 2025, the Abia State Government hosted a grand 75th birthday celebration for Okpala.
The state governor, Alex Otti honoured the cultural icon for his decades of contribution to the Nigerian entertainment industry.
