The war of words between African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, Chief Dele Momodu and Ambassador-designate to Germany, Amb. Femi Fani-Kayode continued on Thursday.

In an X post on Thursday, Momodu said the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain grew frustrated after President Bola Tinubu delayed to offer him an appointment and was already reaching out to people to help him beg former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to pave way for him to switch sides.

SunOnline recalls that Momodu and Fani-Kayode’s clash began after the former compared President Bola Tinubu to late military dictator, General Sani Abacha during a Sunday appearance on Channels TV.

Fani-Kayode had fired back at the journalist-cum-politician over the comparison, accusing him of disrespecting the president and insulting the collective intelligence of the Nigerian people.

On Thursday, Momodu claimed Fani-Kayode suffers from a “strange malady” that has turned him into “an enfant terrible, fighting anyone and anything, including esoteric spirits, in sight”.

He alleged that Fani-Kayode would have readily turned against Tinubu if his ambassadorial appointment had been delayed further.

He said, “For Femi, it is a fulfillment of a long expected appointment. We discussed it several times. And I encouraged him to be patient and prayerful.

“I felt his deep frustration and depression. He was already working on Plan B, and begging a few of us to help him reach out to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (GCON), if all hopes evaporate. Femi without power is like fish out of water.

“It is such a pity that now that Tinubu has finally looked at his side, with mercy and compassion, he is still busy fighting, like a pig, instead of seeking urgent rehabilitation into the comity of sane human beings.”
