Writer and producer Faith Akinola is set to stage her new production, The Letter, on September 26, 2026, through Mustard Tree Productions.
The stage play explores identity, rejection, societal pressure, emotional healing and restoration, following a young bride whose expectations surrounding one of the most significant moments of her life are suddenly disrupted.
Set against celebration and family anticipation, The Letter follows the central character as she confronts disappointment, cultural expectations, unsolicited advice and public scrutiny.
Speaking about the production, Akinola said the play examines how people respond when life takes an unexpected turn.
“At its heart, The Letter asks what happens when the life you imagined suddenly changes, and whether disappointment should ever be allowed to determine how you see yourself. It is a story about finding your way back to identity, hope and wholeness.”
The production combines drama, music and symbolic staging to tell its story, taking audiences through the protagonist’s personal struggle and journey towards restoration.
The Letter features veteran actresses Tina Mba and Kate Henshaw, alongside Oluchi Odi, Mich Straw and other cast members.
Presented by Mustard Tree Productions, founded by Akinola, the production focuses on creating stories and experiences across stage, screen and live entertainment.
The Letter is proudly supported by Providus Unity, Lizza Atelier, Joes Energy House and Mine Studios.
The Letter will be staged on September 26, bringing together theatre, music and storytelling in an exploration of rejection, resilience and restoration.
