To attract international capital into Africa’s property sector, FAB Realty, a real estate development firm, has engaged global stakeholders and diaspora investors on emerging opportunities across the continent.

Held recently in London, the high-level investment forum, tagged Afri-Vest, convened legal experts, investment bankers, and real estate professionals to explore practical strategies for scaling investment in African real estate markets.

Speaking at the event, Chief Executive Officer of FAB Realty, Ayomikun Adebayo, emphasised the importance of building trust and structure in Africa’s property market to encourage investor participation. “There are viable opportunities in African real estate, but confidence and clarity are key. We are working to remove the friction that discourages investment,” she said.

She noted that while the diaspora holds significant investment potential, many prospective investors face challenges linked to poor due diligence frameworks, regulatory inconsistencies, and lack of verified market information. “This is why Afri-Vest was created; to serve as a platform that educates, connects, and informs investment decisions. This is just the beginning,” she added. During the panel session, professionals from property law, finance, and real estate development focused discussions on legal safeguards, transaction transparency, and institutional reforms required to de-risk the sector. The forum also explored long-term investment strategies, with calls for greater collaboration between private capital and public agencies to improve urban housing and infrastructure development in key African cities.

Participants commended the event for providing actionable insights and fostering cross-sectoral dialogue. Adebayo noted that the firm will continue similar stakeholder engagements in other financial centres as part of its broader strategy to promote sustainable real estate development across Africa.
