FAAN to shut down power at Lagos international airport for maintenance

By Chinelo Obogo

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), has said there would be a power shutdown at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) for maintenance of the terminal. This shutdown will occur between 13:30 and 14:30 hours on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.

FAAN says power shutdown at MMIA will help verify issues affecting the bus riser 11KVA high tension (HT) panel on the ground floor, north of the international terminal 2 (ITZ-2) in Lagos.
The Authority says it expects that the shutdown will cause very minimal disruption to flight operations and passenger facilitation.

The Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Obiageli Orah, said in a statement that airlines operating during the maintenance hour which are RwandAir, EgyptAir, and Qatar Air will be relocated for check-in and arrival formalities at the international terminal 1.

FAAN also called on all intending passengers on these flights to take note and remain vigilant.
